Joe Wehinger
A few months ago I changed (or maybe revised/added) the "News" section
of the company website to my blog. I explained that I really didn't know the
point to it yet, but I'd figure it out along the way.
Since then, my pacing has been inconsistent (sometimes daily, sometimes weekly-ish) and my tone has varied from
professional to very casual, mostly depending on my mood.
This past week, I've sponsored an Executive Producer/potential investor
visiting town. What's been brought to my attention is that my on-line
"persona" is different than me in real-life. And as I look at that, I
suppose I have to agree.
In real-life, I'm quite the nerd. I realize that, I understand that,
I'm proud of that -- I think. I read a lot. I'm constantly writing
something/creating/producing -- business or creative.
The previous casual tone ("on-line persona") was more fun for me. More of a way to relax,
be playful and sometimes tease my friends, associates and colleagues.
But maybe not the best way to professionally associate myself on the
internet to people who are just getting to know me.
Now, luckily this potential investor was very happy and relieved to
meet "the real me." So what that suggests is, how many other people
would also be relieved....and prefer it.
So, feedback heard and appreciated. Lesson learned. Phase 2 will be more professional, accurate and business-based.
I do appreciate all feedback.
